Bauchi: Igbo community lauds ban on IPOB

Bauchi Igbo community has commended the South East Governor’s Forum, Ohaneze Ndi, Igbo and South East senators for banning the activities of the Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).just as they endorsed military declaration of IPOB as terrorist group.
The President – General of the Community in Bauchi, Reverend Engineer Dominic I. Nkwocha who gave the commendation while briefing newsmen at Press Center of NUJ Bauchi Council weekend, said that Igbos in Bauchi believe in the indivisibility of Nigeria as enshrined in the Constitution, saying we are not in support of the activities of IPOB.
Nkwocha stated that,”we are disassociating ourselves from the activities of The so called Independent People Of Biafra,and wish to commend the press conference released by the joint sitting of South-East Governors’ Forum,OhanezeNdi Igbo and the SouthEast Senators”.
He said, “if the Military declaration had came earlier,we would not have been where we are today talking about IPOB”..
The community also assured “we shall continue to respect the law and the constituted authorities and will go about our legitimate duties with our host Community “.
“We equally wish to commend the Governor of Bauchi state for the peaceful co-existence which Bauchi has continue to enjoy due to unalloyed security outfit in place in Bauchi state”.
The President- General accompanied by Igbo Community elected officials, representatives of the Igbo speaking states(5) and other influential Igbos in the state, declared that “we have not being having hate speeches directed at Igbos in Bauchi”
The Igbo Community commended the Emir of Bauchi Dr.Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu for his fatherly advices and protection in the state.
He also appealed peace loving Igbo people in the state to remain resolute and calm, should go about with their normal businesses.
