Bauchi set to establish Health contributory agency

Bauchi state government has expressed its commitment to establish the State Health Contributory Management Agency to enable all citizens the opportunity to access health care services easily.
The state Commissioner of Health Dr Zuwaira Ibrahim Hassan stated this when she declared open a workshop for journalist, civil society organizations and other stake holders in Bauchi.
She said a bill was passed by the House of Assembly and recently assented to by Governor Mohammed Abubakar to that effect.
Dr. Zuwaira Ibrahim Hassan urged participants to effectively sensitize the general public about the agency.
She told the participants that, “I want you disseminate accurate knowledge on the State Health Scheme to the teeming population of Bauchi state as one of the financing mechanism for healthcare”.
The commissioner explained that the scheme will improve health financing using a robust mechanism to help achieve universal health coverage, and urged participants to actively participate in the workshop to acquire the desired knowledge towards achieving the desired goals.
