Adamawa state government has announced the relaxation of the imposed curfew from 8:00am to 6;00pm pending an improved security situation in the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed the development in a statewide broadcast stating that the relaxed curfew regime begins from today Friday 30th October.
Fintiri explained that based on the current outcomes and the fact that there is considerable demonstration of remorse and regrets from most of the good citizens who were misled into this unholy acts by few hoodlums on the return of the loots .
“We have resolved to review the implementation strategy of the executive order which I signed yesterday.
“Part of this review is the fact that the House -to-House search will no longer necessarily be in the form initially envisaged.
“Consequently,government has relaxed the current curfew regime from 8:00am to 6:00pm beginning from 30th October 2020.We shall review this timings as situation warrants”Fintiri declared.
He also stated that checkpoints will be mounted at all entry and exit points of the state appealing for calmness and understanding from citizens.
Recalls that Adamawa experienced its share of the #ENDSARS breaking of law and order where hoodlums looted and vandalised both public and private properties worth billions of Naira.
The Kaduna State Government has relaxed curfew hours throughout the 23 LGAs of the State.
The State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan stated this in a statement made available to media in kaduna yesterday.
The statement stated that from Thursday, 29th October 2020, citizens can move and pursue their lawful business from 6am to 6pm.
However, movement is restricted during the night-time curfew hours of 6pm to 6am.
“Government appealed to residents of the state to remain vigilant, report criminals and continue to cooperate with the security agencies”, the statement reads.
