Benin hierarchy status embroils community in oath administration

A local hierarchy status tussle has embroiled Iguoshodi N’Ebudin Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State in Oath administration to check the activities of integrity-challenged charlatans in Benin Kingdom.
As part of measures to resolve the leadership crisis in the area, President of Benin solidarity Movement, Elder Curtis Ugbo, has therefore appealed to the Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II to call all the actors the crisis to order and make them swear oath of loyalty at the Oba of Benin palace
He made the appeal at a press briefing on Tuesday in Benin City, Edo State Capital where a group of elders of Iguoshodi N’Ebudin publicly, denounced a factional group led by Mr. Sunday Osahon who parade himself as the Okaeghele (youth Leader) of the community.
“With this Sunday Osahon actions and inactions as stated above, and a few others who parade themselves as Enigie, Odionwere, Ohens and Okaeghele, but operate contrary to the aspirations of the Benin Traditional Law and Customs in Benin Kingdom, is a sure indication that His Royal Majesty Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, N’ Ogidigan, need to call them to order and should henceforth make all of them swear an Oath of loyalty at the Oba of Benin palace before they are allowed to function in their various capacities”, Ugbo said.
