Benue ADC Guber Candidate Faults Exclusion of Benue Indigenes from Tinubu Campaign Council

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State, Rt. Hon. Herman Hembe, has criticised the alleged exclusion of Benue indigenes from the recently constituted All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hembe, in a statement issued by the organisation and signed by Sir Peter Vande, described the development as a deliberate political decision rather than an oversight.

He warned that the alleged exclusion could affect the relationship between the people of Benue and the ruling APC.

The statement said the release of the campaign council list had exposed what it described as the “deliberate and calculated exclusion” of Benue people from national political consideration.

According to the organisation, Benue has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s unity and development and deserves meaningful representation in national political affairs.

It said the alleged exclusion of Benue APC members from the campaign council should raise concerns about the prospects of adequate representation if President Bola Tinubu wins the 2027 presidential election.

Hembe said he remained committed to the welfare, security and political interests of the people of Benue, stressing that fairness and inclusive representation should influence political support.

The organisation urged Benue residents to consider the ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, whom it said understood the concerns of the people of the state.

It further claimed that an Atiku-Amaechi administration would restore Benue to what it described as its “rightful position” in Nigeria’s political affairs and implement policies aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

The statement urged the people of Benue to carefully consider their political choices ahead of the 2027 elections.
