The Executive Chairman, Buruku Local Government Area, Mr Raymond Zege said the council has planned to explore its tourism potentials in constructing a 10,000 capacity beach at the bank of River Buruku.
Zege who disclosed this on Saturday night at Mbaape, Buruku local government during the birthday celebration of the State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Mr Tiza Imojime, said already, the council has already allocated 10 hectares of land for the “Buruku Beach Resort” project.
He said the beach which has been designed to meet international standard upon completion, would attract unprecedented development to the council.
“The beach is owned by Buruku LG. It is the LG that is building it through a Public Private Partnership with support from Gov Hyacinth Alia.
“The beach which is housed on 10 hectares of land has the capacity to accommodate 10,000 people at a time.
“It will be built to meet international standard so that tourists can also come and enjoy what we have,” he said.
The council boss further assured that security of lives and property of all tourists would be guaranteed, adding that government is doing everything possible to address all security challenges.
