All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship candidate Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia is in an early following results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC in 17 local government areas of Benue State.
The result indicates that APC has so far won 14 local governments while the Peoples’ Democratic Party 3. The APC has clinched Apa,Ado,Gwer East, Ukum, Obi, Tarka, Katsina-Ala and Buruku, Ohimini, Gboko, Ushongo, Ogbadibi and Oju, PDP secured Logo, Gwer West, Guma and Agatu.
It also, shows from the result declared that the APC is leading with 327,962, PDP 171,223 and Labour, 13,128 the Margin of lead is 156,739 votes.
It should noted that election in Kwande local government has been rescheduled but according to Resident Electoral Commissioner for Benue State, Prof Sam Egwu, the winner of the 2023 Benue Governorship may be declared on theoretical probability.
He averred that this only can be done if the margin of win is greater than the number of total Registered voters from Kwande which has 15 Registration Areas (RAs)and a voter population of 172,294.
The final result is to be announced Monday 20th March, 2023 by INEC.
