Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN Benue State branch has embarked on an indefinite strike to demand for implementation of the new minimum wage.

According to Jooli, the directive to embark on the indefinite is sequel to a letter which was addressed to Governor Hyacinth Alia titled; ‘notification of indefinite strike over non implementation of new minimum wage’ which was endorsed by its Central Working Committee, CWC, National Executive Council, NEC and the Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC.
Part of the letter read, “The Executive council of JUSUN Benue State branch in compliance with the directives of the Central Working Committee, CWC and the National Council, NEC of the Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC to embark on indefinite strike on 2nd December, 2024 over non implementation of the new minimum wage.
“JUSUN Benue State branch has no option than to comply with the said directives and embark on the indefinite strike with effect from 6th December, 2024 following failure of Benue State Governor to implement the said minimum wage to its members.
“All Judiciary Staff across the State are by this notice, directed to withdraw their services and remain at home until further directive from the State branch of the union”.
When our correspondent visited the High court, it was under lock and key even as members of the NLC and JUSUN officials were spotted ensuring compliance.
