The Benue State Police Command has arrested ten suspects in connection with the killing of the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Benue State Chapter, Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed, and another victim, Yakubu Isa.
The Command disclosed this in a press statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, stating that the arrests followed intensive intelligence gathering and coordinated tactical operations in Otukpo Local Government Area.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended during a coordinated overnight operation on June 27, 2026. Those arrested are Titus Thyodenda, 25; Utibe Sam, 20; Owoicho Ameh, 18; Sunday Useni, 21; Sunday Ogbanje, 46; Daniel Raphael, 23; Adokole John, 24; Samuel Ogazi, 32; Agbo Daniel, 25; and Onazi James, 30.
The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Cletus C.N. Nwadiogbu, commended the tactical teams and investigators for their swift response and professionalism, which led to the arrests.
He assured the public that investigations are ongoing, adding that efforts have been intensified to identify and apprehend other persons connected to the killings.
The police commissioner reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring that everyone found culpable is brought to justice in accordance with the law.
He also appealed to residents of the state to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and provide credible information that could assist ongoing investigations.
The Benue State Police Command reaffirmed its resolve to protect lives and property while sustaining peace and security across the state.
