Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly Hyacinth Aondona Dajo on Tuesday released the list of Commisssiners, Special Advisers nominees as well as Senior Special Assistants designated.
It would be noted that the non release of the list has raised a lot of hue and cry with the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, criticizing the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, government of adamant refusal to make public the list of Commissioners thereby breaching the constitutional requirement that mandated government at all levels to release the list within 60 days in office.
PDP also, accused Governor Hyacinth Alia of running the government as a ‘sole administrator’.
The letter from the Governor to the house on the nominees stated inter alia,” furthermore, in order to enhance speedy service delivery and the government to move on full throttle, His Excellency has also approved the following names for Special Advisers and some Senior Special Assistants designated.
The list shows that there are 17 Commissioners, 17 Special Advisers and 24 Senior Special Assistants selected from the three (3) Senatorial District of the State.
The statement said that additional names of advisers shall be announced in due course.
The Assembly is expected to commence screening of the Commissioners and Special Advisers nominees on resumption from recess this month.
