Benue state is investors’ haven – Commissioner

The Benue State Government said it is taking appropriate steps to take advantage of terrorists flocking to the state to make the state investors haven.

Speaking in Kaduna recently, the Benue State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Terfa Ihindan said that serious investors are free to invest in Nigeria and Benue in particular without the fear of any form of insecurity.

The Commissioner said thatthough there are some evidence of insurgency encroaching into Benue State,” the administration of Gov. Gabriel Suswan is set to curb and restrict it to ensure its does not spread”.

‘’Even in America, the Pentagon was hit by terrorists but people are still going to America to invest, so the challenges we are having is not common to Nigeria and if we are having more of this challenges in the North, yes they are in the North for now but cannot spread to other parts’’ he added.

On the Fulani/Tivs, Fulani/Idoma crisis, Dr. Ihindan said” it may not be crisis after all, rather some people somewhere camouflage as Fulani to unleash attack on Benue citizens, a situation the Suswan government is responsive to with the support of Federal government in order to curb the menace”.

The Commissioner also added that the Benue Government has created an enable environment to attract foreign and national investors through the provision of development of infrastructures for conducive invesement.
