The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has reiterated its commitment at ensuring that all intending pilgrims to the holy land this year are adequately and properly sensitized on ideal behaviours during their stay in the holy land.

The Executive Secretary of the Board Alhaji Aliyu Suleiman stated this yesterday at the opening ceremony of train the trainers workshop organised for local government Hajj affairs officers, Islamic scholars, religious organisations and other hajj stakeholders held at the conference hall of Bauchi Central Mosque.

Suleiman urged the trainers to properly educate and sensitize pilgrims on the avoidables that will negate their pure and holy activities during the pilgrimage.

According to him the image of the state and the Nation should be well portrayed by the pilgrims by avoiding the peddling of illicit drugs, absconding from the holy land and other inimical behaviours that are detrimental to the interest of the nation.

The Executive Secretary further stated that the trainers should sensitize the intending pilgrims to use the pilgrimage as an opportunity to pray for the continued peace and harmony of the state and indeed Nigeria at this time of insurgency and insecurity.

Aliyu Suleiman assured the intending pilgrims of adequate preparation in this year’s forth coming pilgrimage exercise to Saudi Arabia.

In his remarks, The Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwan Suleiman Adamu commended the MPWB for the workshop.

Rilwan Adamu appealed for re-orientation of intending pilgrims and first timers embarking on the journey to the holy land to shun all vices that could tarnish the image of the state and the country.

He charged the trainers to sensitize all intending pilgrims on cleanliness while in the holy land saying that “cleanliness is next to God”.
