Investors and economic experts have converged on Kaduna State capital in the evening of Thursday to set agenda for mutually beneficial Foreign Direct Investment relationship with the Governor Uba Sani administration.
The Governor, who played host to the first-of-its-kind investment summit, has expressed hope that the event would serve as the springboard for boosting the fortunes of the State.
The Investment Summit , according to Governor Uba Sani, was organized by the U.S. Embassy and American Business Council.
“The summit aimed to explore investment opportunities in Kaduna State, which can help boost the economic growth of the state”, Governor Sani revealed.
Meanwhile, the Governor has also appointed an economic guru and administrator with over two decades of public service experience as Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Administration. The appointee, Umar Hassan Waziri, is a product of Ahmadu Bello University and holds Masters Degree in Accounting and Finance. Prior to the new appointment, Waziri held various executive positions at the Federal Government and State levels. He was once Kaduna State’s Accountant General and more recently Special Adviser on Revenue Matters to Governor Uba Sani.
He is also variously a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Chartered Taxation of Nigeria, Association of National Accountants Institute of Nigeria and Institute of Chartered Treasurers of Nigeria.
