
Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on Saturday evening attacked Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, setting a primary school and a secondary school ablaze.
The attack, which occurred around 7 p.m., forced residents to flee into nearby bushes as the insurgents stormed the community.
Sources said Kautikari Primary School and Government Day Secondary School were set ablaze during the assault, triggering panic among villagers.
A security source from the area confirmed the attack, saying residents were forced to abandon their homes in search of safety.
The number of casualties could not be immediately ascertained, while security agencies had yet to issue an official statement as of press time.
The latest incident underscores ongoing security challenges in Chibok and surrounding communities, which have repeatedly come under attack from Boko Haram insurgents.
