The Uba Sani Back2Back Movement has hailed Saturday’s mass defection of top Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers and chieftains into the All Progressives Congress (APC) as “a watershed moment in Kaduna’s political history.”
In a statement signed by Comrade Habib Bello, Acting Chairman of the Uba Sani Back2Back Movement, the group said the event, held at the historic Murtala Mohammed Square and led by Governor Uba Sani, marked a decisive shift in Kaduna’s political alignment and reaffirmed the state’s position as the new fortress of the APC in Northern Nigeria.
According to the movement, the grand reception — attended by thousands of jubilant supporters, national leaders, and legislators — was “a masterclass in political consolidation and inclusive leadership.”
“What happened at the Murtala Mohammed Square is more than a political ceremony; it’s a reflection of trust,” the statement read.
“Governor Uba Sani has shown that good governance, humility, and accessibility can unite Kaduna people across ethnic, religious, and partisan divides.”
The group commended Governor Uba Sani for personally welcoming the defectors, including serving members of the National and State Assemblies, calling it “a bold demonstration of maturity and confidence in leadership.”
It added that the massive turnout underscored the people’s deepening confidence in the Governor’s reform-driven governance, which has prioritized security, economic empowerment, and grassroots development.
“This defection tsunami validates both Governor Uba Sani’s leadership and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement continued.
The statement noted that “Kaduna has become a rallying point for performance-driven politics in the North.”
The Uba Sani Back2Back Movement pledged to continue mobilizing grassroots support for the Governor’s initiatives, emphasizing that his administration’s inclusiveness ensures “no old or new member will feel left behind.”
“Under Uba Sani, Kaduna politics has entered a new era — one built on unity, empathy, and shared prosperity,” the statement affirmed.
The group urged citizens to remain steadfast in supporting the Governor’s vision for a safer, stronger, and more united Kaduna State.
