The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has submitted an interim investigation report to President Bola Tinubu, confirming that the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) is a fake organisation. ICPC Chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu said investigations established that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew was never appointed by the Federal Government and that the council was never created by any law, executive order or official government instrument.
Aliyu disclosed that the appointment letter and other official documents presented by Adeyemi were forged and used to operate the illegal organisation. He added that the suspect allegedly hijacked the identity of the former Presidential Economic Advisory Council, unlawfully occupied its secretariat and used the premises to run the fake agency. President Tinubu had directed the ICPC on July 7 to investigate the matter and submit its findings within 30 days.
