Reports indicate that General Seyed Majid Ebn Al-Reza (also referred to as Seyed Majid Ben Reza), who was appointed as Iran’s acting Minister of Defense on March 2, 2026, was reportedly killed.

According to multiple sources, he was killed by an Israeli airstrike in Tehran on March 3, 2026, less than 24 hours after taking office.

Ebn Al-Reza was appointed by President Masoud Pezeshkian to replace the previous Defense Minister, Aziz Nasirzadeh, who was killed in joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on February 28, 2026.

Prior to this brief tenure as acting minister, he served as Iran’s deputy defense minister.

The strike is part of an ongoing, large-scale military campaign by Israel and the United States against Iranian strategic and leadership targets.

While multiple international reports and news agencies like India TV and Mirror Now have cited his death, official Iranian state media confirmation is still pending in some reports as the situation develops.

Earlier reports on Tuesday revealed that Iranian drones struck the United States embassy in Saudi Arabia’s capital on Tuesday, marking a dangerous expansion of the fast-escalating Middle East conflict.

Saudi authorities said eight drones were intercepted across two cities, including Riyadh.

However, two penetrated air defences and hit the US diplomatic compound, causing a fire and visible structural damage. Security forces swiftly sealed off the diplomatic quarter, blocking major roads and tightening access.
