Accord begins nationwide e-registration, revalidation

The national leadership of Accord has commenced a nationwide electronic registration and membership revalidation exercise ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, and made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, said the exercise began on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The leadership described the move as part of efforts to reposition the party and strengthen its internal democratic processes.

According to the statement, members across the country, including those in the diaspora, as well as prospective members, are expected to take advantage of the exercise to register and obtain new membership cards.

It added that members who registered under previous platforms are also required to participate, noting that additional information is now mandatory under the new process.

The party directed members to complete their registration online through its designated portal, in compliance with the new electoral governance framework which provides for a digital membership register.

Accord said the digital database would help ascertain authentic members and serve as the basis for accreditation during congresses, primaries and conventions.

The statement noted that guidelines had already been forwarded to relevant organs of the party to ensure a seamless exercise, stressing that time was of the essence.

Ward, Local Government, State and Zonal executives were urged to embark on aggressive mobilisation to drive participation and expand the party’s membership base nationwide.

The leadership expressed optimism that the exercise would further consolidate Accord’s structures and position it strongly for future electoral contests.

It called on Nigerians to join the party in its quest to build what it described as a better, greater and just democratic nation.
