President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ended his working vacation and has returned to Lagos
He departed Paris, France, in the afternoon for the homeward journey to Nigeria, where his aircraft touched down at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, Tuesday evening.
On arrival in Lagos, Tinubu said he was fit and strong and had returned to the country to work.
Asked about his alleged hospital admission during the holidays, the president dismissed it with a wave of the hand, saying that rumour is part of politics.
Tinubu flew to Lagos first to honour the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, the martyr of Nigeria’s democratic struggle, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement the President will, on Independence Day, attend the premiere of a movie honouring Abiola, the winner of the June 1993 election, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
While in Lagos, the statement noted, President Tinubu will also hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates over several days in preparation for the 2027 elections.
President Tinubu had departed Abuja on August 30 for the working vacation. He spent one week in London before heading for Paris.
