Military officers on Monday reportedly prevented the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and officials from the FCTA from accessing a disputed parcel of land.
In a viral video from the scene, the Minister was visibly angry and could be heard saying, “We cannot continue to act with impunity, we cannot continue this way, we cannot continue this way in the country.”
“How can that man at his level not reach out and say, ‘Look, this is what I have,’ and instead send soldiers?”
The disputed property is said to be to a Rear Admiral.
The situation created tension between both parties as the minister insisted on gaining access to the property.
After several unsuccessful attempts, Wike eventually left the site, with FCTA officials and security operatives following closely behind.
