All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has widened his lead in the Anambra State governorship race, emerging ahead in 19 local government areas declared so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Collation of results is ongoing at INEC’s state headquarters in Awka after vote counting was completed across most polling units in the state.
According to figures released from 19 LGAs, APGA has so far secured 389,789 votes, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) following at 91,592, Labour Party (LP) with 10,366, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailing with 1,230.
With just two local government areas left to be collated, Soludo appears poised for re-election, maintaining a comfortable margin over his rivals.
The ongoing exercise is being supervised by the State Returning Officer at the INEC headquarters in Awka and will continue until results from all 21 LGAs are declared.
