Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State addressed a Special Side Event at the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York, presenting Kaduna as a microcosm of Nigeria’s transformation journey.
He outlined the state’s progress in security, agro-industrial development, and inclusive governance as evidence of a broader national renewal, a drive anchored on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Sani told the global audience that Kaduna, once burdened by severe security challenges, is steadily overcoming its past through a balanced mix of kinetic military action and community-driven non-kinetic strategies. He noted that this progress has earned international recognition, with the United Kingdom recently upgrading Kaduna’s travel advisory from “Red” to “Amber” — a strong signal of improved security and stability.
The governor also showcased the state’s economic transformation through initiatives such as the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ), targeted human capital investments, digital modernization, and a governance ethos rooted in transparency and inclusivity. According to him, these reforms are deliberately designed to attract investment, empower communities, and accelerate growth.
While stressing the determination of Nigerians to drive change from within, Sani underscored the indispensable role of international cooperation. He declared Kaduna’s readiness to partner with multilateral institutions, private investors, the diaspora, and development partners in co-creating scalable solutions that deliver shared prosperity.
“Global partnerships remain critical to unlocking our collective potential. Kaduna State is prepared to work with all stakeholders to build sustainable pathways of peace, dignity, and opportunity for all,” he said.
The Kaduna governor concluded by saluting President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s renaissance, pledging that the state would continue to align with national priorities in a way that demonstrates the Renewed Hope vision at the subnational level.
