…Senator Katung, other Heavyweights Lead Southern Kaduna ‘Political Earthquake’*

Kafanchan — the political heartbeat of Southern Kaduna — roared to life today as Governor Uba Sani literally locked down the city to receive a star-studded wave of decampees from the opposition PDP, led by none other than Senator Sunday Marshall Katung and an array of heavyweight political figures across Jema’a, Kaura, Zangon Kataf, Kagarko and Sanga.

In scenes reminiscent of a presidential campaign finale, the ancient railway city erupted into wild jubilation as ecstatic supporters flooded the streets, dancing, waving brooms and singing victory chants as convoy after convoy rolled in. Markets paused, streets heaved with humanity, drums thundered, and Kafanchan’s skyline throbbed with chants of “Sai Uba! Sai Jagaban Kaduna!”

Security operatives struggled to control the sea of humanity, while an electrified crowd — many on rooftops and tree branches — waved APC flags and posters of Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

At the mega rally ground, the atmosphere was explosive as top-tier APC chieftains, federal lawmakers, traditional rulers, and a powerful delegation from the Presidency graced the historic realignment.

Addressing the roaring crowd, Governor Uba Sani declared Southern Kaduna “the new axis of hope and unity,” hailing the defectors for joining what he called “the unstoppable Kaduna Progress Movement.”

“Our politics is not about division, it is about development. Southern Kaduna has spoken today — loudly, clearly, proudly,” he thundered, drawing thunderous applause.

Senator Katung, visibly energized by the massive ovation, said the decision was born out of “a duty to align with progress, security, and justice for Southern Kaduna.”

APC State Chairman and leading Arewa political figures praised Governor Sani as “the bridge-builder who has buried old divides and ushered in a new era.”

Political analysts called the defection a seismic shift — one that may permanently redraw the Southern Kaduna political map ahead of 2027.

As fireworks lit up the sky and crowds chanted late into the night, one thing became unmistakably clear: Kafanchan did not just receive new party members — it witnessed the beginning of a political paradigm shift.
