Popular social media activist and influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), on Thursday led a large group of youths in a protest in Abuja demanding urgent action on the country’s economic challenges and governance issues.
The protesters, who marched through parts of the Federal Capital Territory, carried placards bearing various inscriptions, including “Tinubu Must Go,” “End Hunger,” and “Nigerians Are Suffering.”
The demonstration attracted significant public attention as participants called for reforms aimed at addressing the rising cost of living, unemployment, insecurity, and other socio-economic concerns.
Addressing the crowd during the protest, VeryDarkMan urged Nigerian leaders to prioritize the welfare of citizens and take decisive steps to alleviate the hardships facing many households across the country.
He emphasized the need for accountability, transparency, and policies that directly improve the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians.
Security personnel were reportedly deployed to monitor the protest and maintain law and order. As of the time of filing this report, there were no immediate reports of violence or major disruptions linked to the demonstration.
The protest comes amid growing public discussions over economic conditions and governance in Nigeria, with various groups and stakeholders continuing to express differing views on the direction of the country.
