A businessman, Kadiri Onisemo, who unlawfully damaged a neighbour’s car, was yesterday charged before an Oshodi Magistrates’ Court, in Lagos.
Onisemo, 45, who resides at 167, Ikorodu Road, Onipanu, Lagos, is being tried for breach of the peace and damage.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 20, at his residence.
He said that the accused willfully damaged the windscreen of a Sienna car with registration number LSR 29 BD, property of one Mr Joe Alabi.
Olatunde said that the accused claimed that he had warned the complainant to stop parking his car behind his own car as he was always the first to drive out every morning.
The offences, Olatunde said, contravened Section 348 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2011.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 348 prescribes a two-year jail term as penalty for convicted offenders.
The accused pleaded innocence of the offences and was granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mr. Akeem Fashola, adjourned the case till November 23, for mention. (NAN)
