Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda has inaugurated a committee of stakeholders in preparation for the upcoming bye-election in the Kankara-Faskari-Sabuwa federal constituency.
A statement issued by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, indicated that the committee, led by State Deputy Governor Alhaji Faruq Lawal Jobe, includes Senator Muntari Dan Dutse as the deputy chairman and Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, the Secretary to the Government of the State, as the secretary.
Governor Radda outlined that the committee comprises all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the federal and state houses of assembly, commissioners, and special advisers from Funtua zone.
Other members include the state deputy and vice chairmen of APC in the zone, council, and APC chairmen of the eleven local government areas, along with state party officials from the zone.
The announcement was made during the Funtua zonal stakeholders meeting of the APC held yesterday at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Government House, Katsina.
Governor Radda emphasized the committee’s flexibility to co-opt individuals contributing to the party’s success in the bye election.
Expressing gratitude to APC stakeholders for involving all card-carrying members, Governor Radda called for sustained respect for all party leaders to enhance commitment to the party’s success. He also revealed plans to unveil stakeholders’ committees for each of the thirty-four local governments in the state.
State Deputy Governor Alhaji Faruq Lawal Jobe shared ongoing consultations with Funtua zone stakeholders to strategize for victory in the bye election’s twenty polling units in Kankara and Faskari local governments. Stressing the APC’s strong grounds for canvassing more votes, he highlighted Governor Radda’s commitment to addressing major challenges, including security.
In their remarks, State APC Chairman Alhaji Sani Ahmed Daura and Senator Muntari Dandutse of Funtua zone commended Governor Radda’s seven-month administration for delivering democracy’s dividends to the common man. They appealed to stakeholders to approach electorate canvassing with politeness.
This marks a proactive step towards ensuring a successful and inclusive bye-election in the Kankara-Faskari-Sabuwa federal constituency.
