As part of effort to improve women participation in agriculture, the Care International through Catalyzing Strenghtened Policy Action for health Diet and Resilience (CASCADE) project, trained 1, 554 women on vegetables and assorted seeds farming in Jigawa.
Speaking during the training, the Cascade project manager Mr Isaac Ishaya said, the training will provide access and strengthen linkage between the small holder farmers and lead agricultural sectors.
He explained that the participants drown from five local government areas in the state were also trained on the planting and cultivation.
According to him, the intervention which is under the 2024 Rain Fed Season Agriculture Input Fair/Voucher Resumption through Catalyzing Straightened Policy Action for Health Diet and Resilience (cascade) project, is funded by CARE International.
“The project is aimed at increasing access to consumption of health diet resilience to price and climate change-ralated shocks and stresses for women of reproductive age with children under five”.
