The cash transfer unit in Zamfara State has launched an investigation into the alleged non payment of over 10,000 cash transfer benefits in Tsafe local government council of the state.
This was disclosed by the Training and Communication Officer of the Unit of Zamfara State, Nasir Ja’afar while speaking to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.
Jafar who revealed that, over 10,000 cash transfer beneficiaries from the 17 communities of Tsafe local government area of the state had on Thursday staged a protest over the alleged non payment of their benefits since their enrollment in 2018.
He further noted that the matter has since been communicated to the National Cash Transfer Office (CTO,) Abuja for necessary action with a hope to formally address the issue once and for all.
“We are aware of the uproar coming from communities in Tsafe local govenment area over nonpayment of their benefits.
“You know in cash transfer programme, we have various channels to register graivances from the beneficiaries.
“We expect them to pass their complaints through the grievance handling officers or payment officers in their communities so as to forward to the local government and state unit offices”, Ja’afar explained.
