After a long await on Senate, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is finally set for first Monetary Policy Committee meeting (MPC), 2018.
This was following the assumption of duty of the newly confirmed deputy governors and the three committee members.
Investors have been waiting patiently for the outcome of the MPC meeting to know the next line of action to take about investing in the country’s economy.
Meanwhile, CBN in a statement said, Prof. Adeola Festus Adenikinju, Dr. Robert Asogwa and Dr. Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi were fully on ground as members of the MPC.
The statement also quoted the CBN’s Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele to have formally welcomed the new deputy governors and the members on board before the oath of office was administered on them.
Those in attendance are: Mr Moses Tule, Director, Monetary Policy Department, CBN, Dr. Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi; Dr. Robert Asogwa, MPC members; Mr Lametek Edward Adamu, Deputy Governor, CBN; Mr Adebayo Adelabu, Deputy Governor (Operations), CBN; Mr Godwin Emefiele, Governor, CBN;
Others are: Dr. Okwu Nnanna, Deputy Governor, Financial System Statability, CBN; Mrs Aisha Ahmad, Deputy Governor, CBN; Prof. Adeola Festus Adenikinju, MPC member; and Mrs Alice Karau, Ag. Director, Corporate Secretariat, CBN.
