The International Commandant of United Nigeria Chaplaincy, Professor Jide Jisos Josiah Ejie, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace by bonding against perpetrators of insurgency in the country.
The Commandant, who made the appeal at the ranking of officers and commissioning of 2014 Batch “B” cadets of the Federal Capital Territory Command in Abuja, said peaceful co-existence was necessary for sustainable development.
He said the current insecurity in the nation was unacceptable hence; its officers have been adequately trained to assist other security agencies in maintaining peace and tranquility in a civil manner and added that his organization was involved with peace efforts across the world.
The Commandant described the commissioned officers as people of good character and learning and he charged them to be forthright and gallant in handling challenges that may demand their professional expertise.
Also, the FCT Commandant of United Nigeria Chaplaincy, Prince Desmond Ononuju, said the Chaplaincy was poised to liaise with security agencies to tackle insecurity.
