Stern looking anti-riot Policemen were drafted to the premises of the Kebbi State House of Assembly apparently to prevent the impeached Speaker from gaining access to his of office to presides over the session of the Assembly.
The impeached Speaker, Aminu Musa Habbib Jega, basking on the euphoria of court injunction of motion expertee that says the Assembly should reversed to the status quo ante pending the determination of suit in court over his impeachment.
Jega who arrived the premises of the Assembly 9.30 a.m was prevented by the Security operatives from gaining assess to his office.
The new Speaker, Hon. Hassan Shalla Gwandu, told newsmen that up till today his office has not received a copy of the Court injunction directing the House to reverse back to status quo as he predecessor claimed.
He however appealed to his colleague in the House as well as members of the Public to be calm and go about their normal businesses describing what is happening in the House as “the beauty of Democracy.
“My appeal to our people is to be very calm so that the high level of peace we are enjoying here will not be truncated, as we can see, this is real Democracy in action,” he stated.
