Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has urged the federal government to do whatever necessary, including negotiation with the Boko Haram, to secure the release of the over 200abducted school girls in Chibok, Borno state.
Tambuwal said yesterday when he received the #BringBackOurGirls campaigners, who paid a courtesy call in his office yesterday, saying “so many Nigerians leaders feel that we shouldn’t negotiate with Boko Haram; I have maintained my position that we should negotiate if that will bring back Chibok girls. For goodness sake, let’s negotiate and save the children. After all, Isreal and Palestinians are still talking”.
According to him, “Negotiation is not submission, but a strategy; so let get this girls out and then if you want to confront them, you confront them head on. But whatever we need to do, we must do, as a government, to bring back these girls safely and alive.
He urged campaigners to continue with their campaign and commended them for their resilience and their steadfastness, and promise to give them all the necessary support they deserved, saying, “We as leaders should not be seen to discourage you, government is not a secret cult, if you are running a government you must be prepared to answer questions.
