The former Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan said it is not only the children of the rich people who deserve to be alive.
He said the children of the poor also have a better future.
He disclosed that some of the poor children of today can be important people tomorrow.
He said, “the menace of street children concerns every part of our society, starting from the family. We must stress that parents should not throw away their children”.
Speaking with the journalists during the Abuja premiere movie, titled: “The Oratory”, in Abuja over the weekend, he urged the government to collaborate with the church, and the church with the parents to make children survive.
