The Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos has honoured Mr Oluwole Samuel Adigun, National President and Patron of the Made-in-China Goods Traders Association of Nigeria, with a Friendship Contribution Award for his role in promoting China-Nigeria relations.
The event which marks the celebration of the 77th independent anniversary of the people’s republic of China and the senthfort celebration of Mrs Yan Yuqing as consular general of china in Lagos. The award was presented on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, in recognition of Adigun and the association’s contributions to promoting friendship and strengthening relations between Nigeria and China.
The award was jointly presented by the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos, Ms Yan Yuqing, and the wife of the Lagos State Governor.
The Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG) was also among dignitaries who attended the event.
According to the award certificate issued by the Chinese Consulate-General, the recognition was presented “in appreciation of its contributions to promoting China-Nigeria friendship.”
The honour highlights the role of business and trade organisations in strengthening people-to-people relations and deepening economic and commercial cooperation between Nigeria and China.
The Made-in-China Goods Traders Association of Nigeria provides a platform for traders and other stakeholders involved in Chinese-manufactured products in Nigeria, while facilitating engagement between Nigerian traders and their Chinese counterparts.
The recognition also underscores the growing contribution of private-sector organisations to bilateral relations, trade cooperation and stronger ties between the two countries.
