As Christians today celebrate this year’s Christmas, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has enjoined those resident in the Territory to use the occasion to reflect and to rededicate themselves to the virtues of love, unity and peace.
Malam Bello described these virtues as the recurrent themes of the message of Jesus Christ.
According to a statement released yesterday, by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Cosmas Uzodinma, the Minister gave this charge in his Christmas message on behalf of the FCT Administration to residents especially Christians in the Territory.
He appealed to all Nigerians, particularly the Christian faithful to use the season to pray for leaders and country, that all and sundry may enjoy peace and progress in the coming years.
Furthermore, the Minister urged all residents to be security conscious and to report all suspicious movements to the nearest security agencies.
He however assured residents that the Administration continues to work in concert with the security community to guarantee safety of lives and property in the FCT, especially during the yuletide season.
The Minister also used the occasion to thank FCT residents for their prayers as well as their sacrifices towards the development of the Territory in particular and Nigeria in general.
While soliciting for citizenry’s partnership and support in the coming years, the Minister appealed to them to join hands to make Abuja the city of unity and a haven of peace as was conceived by the founding fathers.
