A civil society group under the auspices of National Democratic Front (NDF) has threatened to within 7 days embark on a naked protest on the streets of Abuja, the nation’s capital, if their call for the reversal of the recent appointment of Mrs. Saratu Umar, as the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) is not upheld.
The group and its civil society partners, had on Monday staged an occupy investment house protest against Mrs. Umar’s appointment, during which protesters blocked the entrance into the NIPC’s office complex, at Plot No. 1181 Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja. However, it took the effort of some top management staff at the Commission, who called the police, which dispersed the protesters, before whisking away NDF leader, Comrade Philip Agbese, in a Hilux van with registration number NPF 104 7B to unknown location. He had since regained his freedom.
