Cleric urges government at all level to carry religious leaders along

A Kano based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Mahajjadina Sani Kano have advocated the need for the new set of people in governance that were inaugurated on the 29 of May 2023 at all level and the new set of leadership in the National Assembly to provides and enabling environment to carry religious leaders along, so that they can serve as moderator in the face of sever moral decadence among the youths in the country.
Sheikh Mahajjadina made the call in a chart with our reporter in Abuja over the weekend, he added that this has become imperative owning to the fact that religious leaders are being under used in the face of curbing the fall in discipline of which they their input should have being of great importance in bringing an end to several immoral acts in the society such as phone snatching hooliganism which ultimately make them easy target for recruitment into more sophisticated crime like terrorism, banditry and insurgency.
He therefore urges state government that are been ravaged by spate of terrorist’s activities to involved religious clerics in the planning and executing the war against terrorism, “This have tested and found to be effective in several countries around the world, so Nigeria should also follow the cue, so that the activities of terrorist can be history in our country” he said.
On the state of the economy and the recent removal of petroleum subsidy, the Islamic cleric call on government at all level to roll out measures and palliatives in other to cushion the adverse effect of removal on the people especially people in the rural areas, “In as much as government have made up their minds on the subsidy removal, provision should be put in place so that the hash impact of the removal would not be too much on the citizens”, he concluded.
