Apostle Yakubu Yusuf, Senior Pastor of the House of Purpose Ministry in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has emphasized that Christ is the only solution to Nigeria’s numerous challenges.
Speaking at the 2025 Purpose Fire Convention, Apostle Yusuf lamented various issues plaguing the country, including insecurity and moral decay, attributing them to a departure from God and His principles.
The convention’s theme, “Jesus Christ Everywhere,” underscored the need for Christians to return to Christ and apply His teachings in every aspect of their lives.
Apostle Yusuf declared that Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no problem in Nigeria can be resolved without Him.
He urged Christians to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth, reflecting Christ’s love and truth in a dark and sinful environment.
Guest speaker Pastor Samson Ishaya of Hill City Christian Center in Barnawa, Kaduna North Local Government Area, highlighted the importance of demonstrating Christ’s character in daily life.
He referenced 2 Corinthians 3:18, which states, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Pastor Ishaya noted that Jesus Christ embodies love, compassion, and kindness, and His followers are expected to emulate these qualities.
He emphasized that Christians should reflect Christ’s teachings and values through their character, actions, and words, showing that Christ is indeed present everywhere.
The clerics stressed that Christ’s presence in the lives of believers should transform them, making them more like Him.
They urged Christians to become agents of change, working to transform society and bring hope to the hopeless.
Additionally, they highlighted the importance of unity among Christians, referencing Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21, where He prayed that His followers might be one, just as He and the Father are one.
Apostle Yusuf and Pastor Ishaya reminded Christians that they have a duty to be the voice of the voiceless, advocating for justice and righteousness in the face of oppression and inequality.
They encouraged them to be courageous and steadfast in their commitment to Christ and His principles.
