CNPP backs Buhari measures to Contain COVID-19 Spread

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has expressed support to measures adopted by President Muhammadu Buhari in efforts to end the spread of coronavirus in the country.
The CNPP in a statement issued by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu urged the government to ensure that the presidential directives were fully complied with, including relieve for the most vulnerable groups in the states under lockdown and the FCT.
“We urge the federal government to ensure that the conditional cash transfers ordered by President Buhari for the most vulnerable in our society, for the next two months and the relieve materials for the internally displaced persons do not become another conduit pipe for syphoning the national treasury.
“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to sustain such briefing at this challenging time to give bite to the activities of the stakeholders in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
“We urge citizens across the country to abide by the standard protocol in managing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in all parts of the country.
“Restriction of movement is key to winning the war against coronavirus spread, we urge every Nigerian resident to follow through with all medical advice from the Federal Ministry of Health and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
“The CNPP appreciates spirited Nigerians who have been contributing in cash and material donations towards tackling the pandemic.
We urge more Nigerians to show the true Nigerian spirit of love for one another by contributing cash and materials to assist the most vulnerable in the society at this trying times as most of the Nigerian masses live by daily incomes they earn”, the CNPP stated.
