The Caretaker Chairman of the African Democratic Party, (ADC), in Ondo State, Wole Ademoyegun yesterday said the adoption of the party by coalition forces in the country will in no small measure strengthen the party as a formidable force in the political landscape of the state.

While expressing delight over the development, Ademoyegun emphasised that a credible opposition will be entrenched in the state which he said is essential for growth of the state and the country at large.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai, former Senate President David Mark and other coalition leaders officially adopted ADC as the platform against the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Also political stalwarts in the state such as the former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Tola Alabere, Former Senator Nicholas Tofowomo and the 2024 governorship candidate of the NNPP, Gbenga Edema among others, also joined the coalition.

According to the State ADC chairman, the party is committed to reclaiming its position as a strong and influential force within the state’s political arena.

“Our capability to provide credible opposition remains steadfast and we will collaborate to build a party that embodies the principles of good governance. This is in stark contrast to the current challenges facing our nation, where good governance is often lacking.
