Retired Brigadier General, Mansur Dan Ali, who was a member to the recent National Conference from Zamfara state has advocated for the creation of state police across the country.
Speaking yesterday at his Birnin Magaji local government home town, General Dan Ali stressed the need for the creation of state police as it would help to ensure maximum security against serious challenges the country is facing especially north-east.
General Dan Ali cited examples with Kano and Rivers states where they established the Kano state Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) and Rivers state Road Traffic Control (RIROTCO), saying the two operational agencies were serving as special security outfits being compliments to the efforts by the federal security agencies in the state.
He informed of his readiness to contest under the Platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Zamfara west Senatorial seat come 2015 as he pledged to apply his hard-earned military discipline to ensure that national interest is protected as well as the secure of perfect unity in the best interest of the people.
The General called on people across the nation to support the APC for the country to move to the next level of development, stressing that, it is the only political party strongly established by compatriots for the development of the country.
