Yobe state Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has tasked religious leaders, royal fathers and other stakeholders to corporate with the security agencies in the country, with a view to stamping out all threats to peace and security in the nation.

In a statement, issued by his Special Adviser on Press Affairs and Information, Abdullah Bego, Gaidam said this cooperation with the security operatives should be in the form of giving them valuable information on the movement of suspicious individuals and groups in their neighborhoods.

In his Sallah message to the Muslim Ummah on this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, Gaidam reminded Muslims resident in the state that as a result of the lessons they learnt from Ramadan fasting, they are expected to demonstrate understanding and tolerance to their neighbours.

He also tasked them to show compassion to those in need, pointing out that the season affords Muslim faithful the opportunity to make sober reflection and to make an assessment of their conducts and endeavours to conform with the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“It is anticipated that given the lessons learnt from the period of Ramadan fasting, our good people would not be found wanting in their adherence to the teachings of Islam as stipulated in Sharia laws which are part and parcel of our lives”, he said.

In addition, Governor Gaidam reassured Yobe citizens that his administration will continue to focus on making life more meaningful to all the people of the state, while expressing hope that the atrocities committed by the insurgents and other criminals have come to an end, the Governor used the Eid-el-fitr celebration appeal to Nigerians to keep faith and trust in Allah and to continue to pray for improved security situation in the state.
