Following the outbreak of coronavirus and Lassa fever in Nigeria, the Kebbi State Government has organised a protections workshop for the all health workers in the state.
Addressing pressmen in his office on Friday, the Permanent Secretary and Medical Director incharge of Sahyah General Hospital, Dr. Aminu Bunza said that the training which was held in Birnin Kebbi was aimed at enlightening all the medical professions on how to handle the two cases if the need arises.
He explained further that Kebbi State Government has also mapped out a staunch strategy by equipping all the health facilities to ensure the protection of lives of the people and improved on how to end the menace.
“I always advice the people to wash their hands before eating as well as cleaning the kitchen and houses,” he added.
Bunza who is a medical consultant lamented over the negligence of the parents for leaving their houses dirty despite the government’s effort in bring succor and changes to the communities.
“Anyway we only recorded two cases of Lassa fever hear in Kebbi State and the state government has also put people on the borders in Kebbi State being shared with Niger Republic and Benin Republic in order to ensure that the disease will not transmitted to the state,” he said.
