Coronavirus: Zamfara embarks on aerial/land fumigation exercise

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State has flagged off both aerial and land fumigation exercises aimed at ensuring that the state was absolutely Covid-19-free.
Matawalle, who further assured safety of health and lives of the good people of the state warned all supervisors of the exercise to make sure that no space in Gusau must be left without being fumigated.
“I am directing you to stick to the rules of engagement reached for the success of this fumigation exercise, this is all about shielding the entire state from the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
“My administration can do everything possible provided it involves measures capable of giving adequate protection of lives and property of my good people, for this one, is a total fight against Covid-19 and other infectious airborne diseases.
“We have engaged the services of a reputable company, Multiplus Investment Limited in partnership with Jongri Steel Structures and Agro Allied Limited to carryout services comprising aerial/land fumigation.
“Other services to be carried by the company were refuse disposal, disinfecting public environment, environmental cleanliness as well which would be jointly supervised by the ministries of environment and solid minerals, and Local Government and Community Development”, Matawalle has said.
Earlier, adhoc staffers were selected from the 14 local government areas of the state, and have already received necessary technical training, the company has procured necessary equipment with a view to make the exercise successful.
