An Upper Area court in Zuba, Abuja, has sentenced one Rabiu Abubakar, 23, to seven months imprisonment for stealing a motorcycle.
The judge, Malam Aminu Sa’ad, sentenced Abubakar , of no fixed address, after he pleaded guilty to the theft charge.
Sa’ad, however, gave the convict an option of N25,000 fine.
Police prosecutor, Cpl. Momoh Ibrahim, had told the court that the theft was reported at the Zuba Police Station on May 10, by one Idris Ibrahim of Dakwa village, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Ibrahim said that the complainant reported that while he was working in his farm on that day, “Abubakar came and criminally trespassed into his farm and made away with his Jincheng motor cycle.”
He said the motorcycle was recovered from the convict during investigation.
He told the court that the offence contravened section 287 of the Penal code. (NAN)
