Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has presented staff of office to the newly appointed emir of Fufore Emirate as a court sitting in Yola summoned him (Governor) on the matter.
Presenting the Second-Class Staff of Office to the new Emir in Fufore,Fintiri emphasized that the establishment of the emirates was driven by the government’s genuine intention to reposition traditional institutions for better governance in the state.
While dismissing any negative interpretations of the move as unfounded, Fintiri described such impressions as “imaginations far removed from our genuine intentions.”
He expressed optimism that the creation of these emirates would enhance conflict resolution, strengthen local governance, and deepen democracy.
Meanwhile, the High court sitting in Yola summoned Governor Fintiri, the Attorney General and new emir of Fufore,Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu based on a legal suit challenging the constitutionality or otherwise of the creation of the new Fufore Emirate.
