Covid-19: Katsina govt sensitizes stakeholders in education

As part of the efforts towards safe reopening of government owned and private tertiary institutions for the continuation of academic activities in Katsina state, a one day sensitization workshop was held for all the stakeholders in the education sector.
Speaking for Katsina state COVID-19 emergency response team, its chairman who is also the Deputy Governor Alh Mannir Yakubu charged the participants to apply all the COVID Protocols while conducting their daily activities especially in the campuses.
Represented by the permanent Secretary for Health Ministry, Dr Kabir Mustapha, the Deputy Governor called on the Heads of Tertiary institutions in Katsina state to ensure that all staff and students as well as visitors strictly comply with the COVID-19 protocols while at the campuses.
He noted that total adherence to the COVID protocols will help to ensure that the academic environment remains safe for the students, the staff and visitors to carry out their activities properly.
The deputy governor enjoined the chief executives of the schools to maintain absolute cleanliness of all equipment, machines, laboratories, lecture theaters, hostels, play ground, buses and classes among other places.
In a welcome address, the chief host of the occasion and the vice chancellor of Umaru musa Yar’adua University, Professor Sunusi Mamman said the institution will not relent in ensuring a safe environment for all the stakeholders to carry out their daily activities within the campus.
