COVID-19: Masari calls for early release of test result

Date:

From Lawal Saidu, Katsina

Gov Aminu Masari of Katsina State has urged the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to hasten completion of Covid-19 tests on the people who had contact with late medical doctor tested positive for coronavirus.
Masari made the call yesterday in a chat with newsmen in Katsina while giving update of covid-19 situation in the state.
“I want the NCDC to release results of the samples taken from the suspected persons within 48 hours.
“As at now, we have quarantined about 35 persons suspected to have contact with the late medical doctor, Dr Aliyu Yakubu,” he said.
The governor said that would enable the government to take immediate actions of either quarantining the whole state or some part of the state to prevent spread of the disease.
He further said that government would also look into the patients register of the private clinic owned by the late Dr Yakubu, to trace to people he had contact with before his death.
