Dankwambo wins Gombe North senatorial

Former governor of Gombe state Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo was declared winner of Gombe north senatorial district, defeating the incubent Alhaji Saidu Alkali of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Peoples Daily reports that Gombe north senatorial district comprises of five local government areas including Gombe, Kwami, Dukku, Funakaye, and Nafada.
Announcing the result on Monday at Malam sidi, the returning officer Gombe north deputy vice-chancellor administration Federal university Kashere Prof. Umaru Gurama said Dankwambo pulled 143155 votes to defeat his closet rival Saidu Alkali of All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 77,948 votes
He said the total number of accredited votes stood at 228,550 and rejected votes were 8,566.
