NNPP Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency candidate rejects election result

Nasiru Sule Garo, candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency in Kano state has rejected the election result announced in favour of his his opponent, Abdullahi Muazu of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Garo was a three-time member of the constituency.
In a press conference in Kano yesterday, Garo alleged that the election was rigged in connivance with APC, officials of Independent National Electoral and security agents.
According to him, the election was marred by over-voting in favour of Muazu at Garo Polling Unit.
He added that the election officials present at the collation centre insisted that the votes must count even after the NNPP agents protested.
Garo also alleged one of the NNPP agents, after protesting the result, was arrested and passed night in the hand of security agents, leaving him (Garo) vulnerable to failure at the polling unit.
He emphasized that hos party has physical evidences on how the election was rigged in favour of APC.
“I hereby reject the result because i was voted for by the people. There was collaboration with INEC, Kano state Government and security agencies to rig my election. We have physical evidence of two incidences.
“There was over voting. When my agents insisted that they should not include the polling unit where over voting took place but the APC insisted that the unit should be included.
“The officials collaborated with security agents to arrest my agent and left the polling unit without agent. We had to get him released on bail,” he lamented.
Garo disclosed that he and his party would not let the mandate of people of Gwarzo/Kabo Constituency be stolen as it would be reclaimed in the court of law.
